There is nothing more exciting than hearing the harmonious whispers of an up-coming musical group scratching the urban landscape on their travels to success and accomplishments that come hand in hand with the tribulations of this industry.
In this case, those whispers are reserved for Sydney quintet Tin Sparrow, with one of the most unique styles of music I have listen too from a Sydney band, it can only be categorised as the styling of Spaghetti Western melodies meets urbanised indie pop, its seemingly unimaginable sound though somehow this combination is incredibly veracious and entertaining.
Though the most enjoyable aspect of this group is actually the stories associated with many of their songs and how those memories have weaved their way into the sounds that make Tin Sparrow so original. The bands beginnings happened under such unlikely circumstances while studying at Macquarie University where principle songwriter Matt met members Dean, Mark and Sonja.
Since then Tin Sparrow have ridden a wave of success and warm affection for their musical styling from an ever growing legion of fans that increase with each live performance, yet another truth after this brilliant performance given at the Newtown Festival earlier today.
